1.0 INTRODUCTION

In our generation, there are a lot of students arriving late at school. Specially when students woke up late because of a certain reason. Tardiness in students is an act of coming or arriving before the usual due or proper time. Tardiness is a context in any school where the students arriving late at their classroom and it is also against the school rules and regulation. There are so many factors why students are late at school and the main reason is the improper time management, instead of doing their assignments in the first place after doing household chores, rest and afterwards eat. They’re using their time on unprofitable activities. For example, computer games, social media and so on and so forth. That is why most of the students do their assignments late at night and pushing themselves not to sleep earlier until their assignments and projects are done. Because of it many of them woke up late and some are doing it because they didn’t finish it last night. But, there are also another reason why the students are late because of delayed transportation that we commonly saw in highways and roads. Mostly the PUV’s or Public Utility Vehicles clustered because of the traffic jams that is resulting to a longer travel time to arrive at school. This research is all about OLFU students (Our Lady of Fatima University), Antipolo Campus on how will they going to manage their time properly, correctly, and accurately.
We Conducted this research to help those who are suffering from Chronological Tardiness and we are hoping that we can help them to cure their tardiness.

2.0 Background

2.1 Theoretical Framework

Is Tardiness a Psychological Disorder?
many Psychologists suggests that Tardiness is indeed, a psychological disorder and it might be a symptom of an underlying mood disorder such as depression. It is thought that the mental pathways that create chronic lateness originates in some part of the brain that is affected by those who suffer from ADHD (Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder). In fact many ADHD sufferers complain to struggle to keep time.
Another term for those people who suffering from chronic Tardiness is CLIP (Chronically Late Insane People) this acronym is coined by Tim Urban, could it be possible that those people who suffer from chronic tardiness that they may feel that they are unimportant. And that’s what makes an individual tardy and that affects their social interaction with others and their academics and it may cause depression, depression is one of the leading death factors in the world.
Chronological Tardiness must be taken seriously because it affects the overall performance of an individual.
But chronological tardiness can be cured , of course you need to plan ahead to arrive early, calculate your departure time by adding 10 minutes to each half hour of travel time. With extra time, you’ll feel as much less rushed should you run into traffic or another unforeseen delay.
Check the clock, there’s no need to try through it out by thinking you can time your tasks on your own. If you need to keep on track because of back-to-back appointments, classes, or meetings, keep watch or clock in an visible place.
Don’t fall prey to the temptation to do “one more thing” before you know you have to leave. Because it might affect your daily activities in that day .

2.2 Literature Review

Student of Our Lady of Fatima University are tardy for a variety of reasons but being late to class may have a negative effects on their success in school.
These are the some of the negative effects of being late at school, first of all is the respect of your teacher and peers can see that you do not show up on time which can often imply that you feel a sense of apathy or disregard for your education.
It will affect your school works of course for example students that misses his/her first subject or the first part of their lecture may have miss some vital information that might help him/her to understand the topic, and some teachers do not accept last minute submissions of assignments and projects that may result to incomplete or failing grade for the work. Fuller, Kim (2008)
Lateness according to school context is where students arrive or come to school late which goes contrarily against schools’ rules.

One of the factors of being late is improper time management students of Our Lady of Fatima University may do their home works and projects late at night, others do their tasks in the morning before coming to class, students may play online game or interact in their social media accounts and sometimes that causes them to forget their home works. Nakpodia and Dafiaghor 2011 stated in their book “lateness” that school administrators must lead example. The administrators need to be on time because if the students see that they are tardy the students may think that it is ok to be late.
Some students might come to school late due to delay of their transport, students may come from remote places that may result of being late at class, and one of the common reason of students in Our Lady of Fatima University is the high and persistent traffic jams on our road which delay the students to get to class in time.
Lack of motivation teachers who don’t motivate his/her students makes the class boring a classroom must be conductive and lively for learning. Astoli, Paul. D’ (June,20,2017)
One of the most obvious and common reason that people is being late simply because they fail to accurately judge how long a task will take this known as “planning fallacy”.
But to those people who constantly underestimate time tasks, breaking down an activity into very detailed steps can help people more accurately estimate how long their tasks will take, late-comers also need to realize that they can’t be in two places at once, and try to plan fewer things, further apart.
But when it comes to your personality type, unfortunately, there’s not too much you can do to change that. Acceptance, after all, is the first step for change. Macdonald, Fiona (Feb,6,2015)
Students of Our Lady of Fatima University who are chronically tardy may obviously with linear thought process and therefore must have different attitude to how they view time. These people who are chronically late are called CLIP or Chronically Late Insane People it is possible that chronic lateness originates from the same part of the brain that’s affected by those who suffer from ADHD or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, In fact these people who suffers from ADHD complain they struggle to keep time. But then again, many ADHD sufferers are merely ill disciplined, something that is also curable with the right approach.
