As more countries look to scale up CHW programmes or shift additional tasks to CHWs and Pakistans’ LHWP is one of the largest community healthcare programme. Very little has been researched about this subject of productivity of LHWs. We think it is critical to pay attention to the elements that affect LHWs’ productivity in the planning phase as well as throughout the implementation of a programme. An facilitating work environment is essential to maximize the productivity of CHWs. Policymakers, programme managers, and other stakeholders need to carefully consider to incorporate the productivity elements of workload (number and organization of tasks, and number and distribution of households), supportive supervision, availability of supplies and equipment, and respect are defined and incorporated in the overall CHW programme strategy.
